Inexpensive Treadmills Provide Good Service In Right
Situations
You get what you pay for, especially with
inexpensive treadmills. Does
that mean that you shouldn’t buy a cheaper or used
model? Not necessarily. Inexpensive machines have their purposes. For some people and in some
situations they are the ideal solution.
You Get What You Pay For
Inexpensive treadmills are built to operate at lower speeds
with smaller motors. These machines are built for walking or perhaps some light
jogging. They are not designed for hours of sustained use. These machines are
built for people who want some indoor walking exercise for half an hour or an
hour each day.
Inexpensive Machines are Great for Light
Walking
Older people discover that walking exercise is important for
cardiac health, for building muscle tone, stamina and staying the effects of
arthritis and joint stiffness. Doctors often recommend walking exercise for
heart patients. These people do not need the heavy-duty machines that health
conscious people looking for hard workouts demand. Older people or recovering
heart or surgery patients may find that inexpensively priced treadmills are just the
ticket for those days when it is cold, rainy or even too hot to walk outside.

Great Starter Machines
Inexpensive brands also make great starter machines for
people wanting to lose weight or begin an exercise program. Spending $4,000 or
$5,000 for a top of the line treadmill when you are not sure that you are going
to enjoy the exercise or stay with a treadmill
workout program is out of the
question for most people. It makes more sense that these people spend a few
hundred dollars for a less expensive machine. They will not likely be demanding
the same performance from the treadmill that athletes looking for strenuous
workouts expect. Later, when these people have gotten themselves into better
physical condition, where they are running or running faster and for longer
periods of time, they can step up to a higher quality, more expensive machine.
You get what you pay for, and this is true when buying
treadmills. The reverse side of that coin is that it makes no sense to pay more
for a machine that is more treadmill than you need. Inexpensive treadmills have
their place and for many people they are more than adequate.
