Proform Crosswalk Treadmill – Mixed Reviews From Pros,
Customers
Proform crosswalk treadmill models are designed by a
powerhouse family of manufacturers in the fitness industry. Despite this, the
machines put out by the company tend to fall below the competition when it comes
to quality and warranty. Customer and professional reports about the Proform
crosswalk are no different, with complaints ranging from lousy
warranties to cheap parts and excessive heaviness of the models.
Manufactured by Icon, the Proform crosswalk treadmill models
are a small part of a large line of machines. Icon is the maker of such lines of
fitness equipment as NordicTrack, Image and Weslo. The company has about 4,000
employees in 11 locations around the world and does carry a 25-year plus track
record so purchasers don’t have to worry about a fly-by-night operation.

New to the Proform crosswalk line is the Performance X. This
treadmill features a 2.25 horsepower motor, one touch speed controls, a
power incline control, space saving options and more. It offers speeds of 0 to
10 miles per hour, an incline range of 1.5 to 10 percent and a pulse sensor. It
comes with a three-year warranty on the motor and retails for about $400.
Proform's Warranty
The problem with the Proform treadmill line and many
other of the company’s models is the warranty. The standard Proform treadmill
warranty is billed as the 3-2-1 Tread Warranty. This covers the motor for three
years, all parts for two years and labor for a year. This particular feature
does not stack up well against the best treadmill
designs, with many manufacturers offering
at least 10 years on the motors.
Proform crosswalk treadmills receive points off from customers
for bulk and difficulty in use. Professionals complain the models are not made
with high-quality parts and don’t measure up to the competition in a highly
competitive market.
