Reebok Treadmills: A Trusted Name
Reebok treadmills are made by two different manufacturers with
a home use line and a commercial line, each obtaining their own reviews in the
field. Despite their well-recognized trade name, however, Reebok treadmills have
received some pretty mixed reviews from customers and experts in the treadmill
field. The general consensus is they are decent machines, but they don’t stack
up well compared to the competition. The commercial grade machines, however, are
considered solid purchases for their price.
Icon Fitness, the company responsible for such best treadmill makes
as Image, NordicTrack and ProForm, is the manufacturer of Reebok brand treadmills for
home use. The company, which has been in business for more than 25 years,
employs more than 4,000 people in 11 locations around the world. It specializes
in health and fitness equipment ranging from treadmills to climbers using
various product trade name lines.

According to Icon’s home page, Reebok treadmills are
manufactured in four different models all in the $1,000 range. The highest
suggested retail price on a model is $1,400; the lowest is $1,000. This
particular line sells under the brand name Reebok Fitness. The price range on
this line makes it a little more in reach of customers as compared to some
higher-end treadmills that ring up in the $4,000 range.
While critics say Reebok doesn't make the best treadmills on the
market, they do assure those who choose to buy them they are solid machines. The
fact Icon makes them, too, is a plus since the company has an incredible track
record in the industry for staying power.
Reebok models for home use do offer some solid features.
The RX 7200 treadmill model, for example, comes with a 2.0 horsepower commercial grade
motor with a maximum speed of 12 miles per hour. It comes with a built in fan to
keep the person working out cooled down and has 10 pre-programmed workouts. The
incline range is 0 to 10 percent and there is cushioning to minimize impact on
joints and muscle. This model uses grip sensors to detect heart rate range, but
does offer an optional chest pulse sensor.
Another model in the Reebok treadmills line is the V4500. This
machine offers a five-window, 10 by 21 LED display, a 3.0 CHP commercial-grade
motor, speeds up to 12 miles per hour and more.
