The Smooth 9.45 TV treadmill boasts a 15"
TV mounted at eye level onto a bracket above the console, and a motion control
function so you can speed up, slow down, or stop the machine without ever
touching the console.
Smooth’s Best Treadmill
The new Smooth 9 Series treadmills consist of two models, the Smooth 9.45 TV
treadmill and the 9.45ST (standard). They are the best built models from Smooth
Fitness. They come with the patented Motion Control hand controls –
simply wave or hold your hand over the sensor to change speeds – as well as the
innovative Hydra Suspension, a 12-level shock absorption system that lets you
adjust the
deck to your comfort level and style of running.
The Smooth 9.45TV model is equipped with a commercial grade 3.0 continuous
horsepower motor, 2.5" rollers, 20" x 60" running area, Whisper Weave tread
belt, and a triple-laminated reversible deck. With 15 incline levels, the
treadmill has a speed range of 0.5 – 11.2 mph, and offers a user weight capacity
of 400 pounds.

On the console, you get a built-in receiver for
the Polar wireless heart rate transmitter (included), and the six challenging
programs on the Smooth 9.45TV include Killer Hills, Speed Intervals, Weight
Loss, Learn/Competition, Manual, and Heart Rate Control. This is an informative
display that is easy to use. One small drawback is that the time/distance
readouts share the same window, so you don’t get readings for those at the same
time.
The 15" LCD TV adds quite a bit onto the price of the Smooth 9.45 TV treadmill
but some owners feel they can’t live without it. It has high-fidelity speakers
or you can plug in headphones to listen to your shows. It sits above the console
and is designed to stay in one place, even with the deck incline in the top
position, and will not shake while the user runs. Since it is separate from the
console, and does not physically sit inside the dash like many TV treadmill
models, the picture does not get interference from the treadmill motor.
Great Treadmill, But Skip the TV
Priced at $2,599, the Smooth 9.45 TV treadmill is a state-of-the-art machine and
comes with an excellent warranty which provides for lifetime coverage of
the motor, parts and electronics, and two years of in-home labor. However, since
the TV is the key feature, it is important to note that the TV warranty is for
one year only. You would be smart to use a separate TV in the room and buy the
standard 9.45ST model. You’ll save $300 over this one.
